Skanska has signed an $848-million contract with New York City for the Hillview Reservoir Chemical Addition Facilities Construction project in Yonkers, New York.

This joint venture with ECCO III Enterprises, Inc., involves significant upgrades to enhance both infrastructure and sustainability.

Sustainability is a key focus, with the project aiming for LEED v4.1 certification by integrating environmentally friendly practices. This includes initiatives to enhance energy efficiency, improve indoor air quality, and optimize resource use throughout the facility's design and operation.

More specifically, the project at Hillview Reservoir involves significant upgrades to enhance both infrastructure and sustainability. This includes improvements to the North Entrance and the construction of two new Chemical Addition Facilities on-site. In addition, the project will introduce two new electrical service feeds with advanced distribution systems, a modern Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, and interim structures for water quality monitoring and pumping operations—all while ensuring the reservoir remains fully functional during construction.
